Don't listen to the make your own tampons person.

I don't know about you, but I am seriously tired of this weather. I love the rain, I really and truly do, but no when it is interrupting my life to the point where I can no longer walk around without getting my jeans completely soaked through and there are trees lying in the middle of the road and forcing me to take City Ave to get anywhere. I can't even get a decent school delay even though no one get there. If this were snow it would be a totally different story. Snow doesn't flood people's homes and ruin their lives. It just merely inconveniences them and makes for excellent snow adventures with your roommate. The worst part  of these storms for me has been when the hit in the middle of the night when I'm not expecting them. This last one was particularly not fun. I had maybe been asleep for two hours with the sky opened up and dumped a river's worth of water onto all of the air conditioning units outside of my window. It sounded like someone had fallen off the building and landed on my air conditioner. Still sleepy I looked out my window and through the slats in my shades the lightening looked like the early morning light. I had to check my watch because I couldn't believe that it was already 6am. In actuality it was only 2:30am. This weather has really been hampering my good sleep habits.

I've been getting really good sleep this past week and it's left me feeling really good. I've been asleep by 12:30am at the very latest and up at 7am without fail. Some days I even have to push myself to fall back asleep for a few more hours. Thursdays (excluding this past one) are my sleep in days. Somehow I've managed to start class at 1pm and have avoided scheduling anything before then so I can sleep in or use the time to catch up on homework that I may have left to the last minute. I'm finding that I am enjoying being awake early and still having enough time at night to get stuff done. Of course I've been a lot more coffee than usual before class. I need to find out where I can get the awesome Israeli coffee my Hebrew Friend serves. It's amazing. I also need to get my parent's Keurig machine the next time I'm in Stowe. It's such a convenient little machine, if only it could make pumpkin spice lattes for me. And speaking of which, the Starbucks on Old Lanc has finally put their sign out advertising the arrival of their pumpkin spice latte so that means that for the next couple of weeks I will be standing in line with Marg loading ourselves with spicy caffeine product. I love pumpkin products, they signal the advent of fall and fall means leaves, apple picking, and warm clothing.

Anger as soon as fed is dead, tis starving makes it fat.

I got a very rested but very interrupted sleep last night. Last night I worked out and then read for a little while and then when I was trying to fall asleep the girly cramps kicked in full force. Now ladies you know what I'm talking about, the ones that are full body and crippling. The ones that come in waves like labor pains and have put me off childbirth forever and ever. If you're one of the lucky women out there that has no idea what I'm talking about I envy you. While my body was in the throes of agony I chatted up one of my friends. Not the best idea talking to a boy when all you want to do is rip out your uterus. The poor guy tried to be sympathetic, but all I heard was "thank god I'm a boy." Well poo poo on you.

Around 4am I was awakened by something. I'm not sure if it was the storm, the cramps, or something else, but I was up. For some reason I also had the need to check my email, since it hadn't been working earlier and was slightly disturbed by an actually nothing sort of email. In my paranoid state however, I was so freaked out that I couldn't fall back asleep until about 6am. I have problems, I know. Anyways while I was awake I texted a friend about my paranoia over the email and now I'm pretty sure he's ready to commit me to the nut house. I can't help it, I fear confrontation.

In between getting a little more sleep and going to work I decided not to work out (totally regret that now) and instead watch the new episode of Wilfred. Jason Gann is officially going on the potential husband list. Seriously he is brilliant as a man in a dog costume. The show has definitely made me want to get my Siberian husky sooner than later and now I want to play frisbee all of the time. Someone please play frisbee with me!

I just realized that I have start school in ten days which means that I only have one more official week to go to the beach. Total sad face right now. I need to plan this one carefully too because there's so much going on in the office and I don't want to spend the last beach week alone on the beach so I have to make sure my beach buddy is available and all that jazz. SO much planning goes into this, argh!

No sleep and other things.

I had terrible sleep last night and I knew it was going to happen as soon as I walked into my building last night. I knew it was going to be bad, my back seized up for just a few seconds, but it changed the way my muscles were set up. They became all tense and tight but only in a way that I could feel when I laid down to get to sleep. It was so painful and uncomfortable that I spent the night close to tears for just trying to relax and get to sleep. I downed half a bottle of Advil and a box of chamomile tea to ease myself, didn't work so well. I zoned in and out of sleepiness and then shot out of bed when I randomly remember something from earlier in the day. That little it of excitement threw me off for a while. I did get to sleep eventually, sometime between 1am and 2am. Miserable cold and with my lady "moment" I had no chance against the insomnia. I just wish I had that bunny last night, for some weird reason it really made me feel better.

I'm getting new sheets this weekend. I'm very excited about that. I'm trying to get my room together and more unified like I would like it and I need to new sheets. I have a pair that match my rose comforter, but my new comforter has no sheets to match and I need new sheets anyways. I'm going to get some pillowcases to match too. After I wash my comforters and put on the new sheets I may even feel better about my cold. And if Yonni comes over in the next month he has to wear a shirt if he sits on my bed because I don't want any bear hair on my bed, I want really clean sheets for at least a month. By the end of June I'm hoping to have matching shams, new curtains, and the rest of my bed put together.

For the past week I have been streaming cancelled shows on Netflix. It's been great. I started with Party Down, a show about out of work actors who pay their bills by waiting for a catering company in the LA area. It's an assortment of characters from the aging actress (Jane Lynch) to the new in town guy and the hit his peak too early man (Adam Scott). It totally reminded me of my childhood from the assortment of people Lance had working for us to the wacky and insane people we catered for. Rich people are so cracked out. Don't give up after the first episode. Party Down is like The Office you have to watch a bunch all in a row and then it's really funny. I've also been watching Michael and Michael Have Issues starring Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter. I'm a big fan of their earlier work in The State but this show seems a little forced, no wonder Comedy Central didn't renew it for a second season. It's a show about producing a show with sketches thrown into the mix. It had a weird flow to it.

Why so sleepy?

Snap, crackle, pop, FUCK! I hate that it's 11pm and I have all of this energy. Where was it this morning when the rain and cold made me sleepy and want to lay in bed all morning? I have l'hockey in the morning and I've tasked Lauren with making sure I come pick her up in the morning. The only thing that's motivating me is that this is out last morning practice of the semester and the idea of the super hot steamy shower that I plan on taking for a long while to warm up after power skating with Guy (pronounced Gee). Oh man that sounds good. Writing this is making me sleepy thank god and I can't believe that this is the second time this week that I've posted three times in a day. Writing this blog is the new vacuuming when it comes to procrastination. Guess who won't be going out tomorrow night since she didn't write her fiction piece today. Not that I really enjoy going out Thursdays anyways. It's too much after being up since 4am and having to get up again on Friday. I'll go out Friday when I'll have a chance to better enjoy my friends' company. Love my friends, especially some of my work friends. In fact I think I actually like my new work friends than some of my other friends that have been kind of lame recently. I should start reevaluating the people I have in my life and start separating myself from the people that haven't been very good for me. Poo, I love my friends, I don't really want to have to do that, but I need to take care of me first.

On a happier note I have become obsessed with all things that feel soft and fluffy on my nose when I get cold and sleepy. These soft items include the fuzzy lamb skin I keep in bed, nice smelling chest hair on attractive men, and flannel sheets. So if you know of anything or anyone that is incredibly soft, I am taking applications for the next cold and rainy day.

MUST MUST get some sleep tonight!

Two in one night.

It's very late, but I can't sleep. I was up late last night and then slept in so my sleep pattern has gotten off again or it could be the bottle and a half of various wines that I consumed between 5pm and 9pm. Either way I am very much awake right now and I have a small throbbing pain in the middle of my head right behind my nose. I feel exhausted and my body is lethargic, but when I close my eyes sleep does not come. Not even the white noise of Murder, She Wrote can help me.

The restlessness that I'm suffering from had made me think about my bed and the pillow top mattress that I am laying on.  My parents replaced my mattress a few years ago. I was very against getting anything new as I was very attached to the ancient mattress that had been with me since The Red Brick Apartments. My mother did her best to convince me that a new bed would be a good thing for me, but the first new I could barely take it. The mattress was much to soft compared to the old stiff one that my back was used to. I tossed and turned all night. My mother had to rub my back to keep me calm and get me to fall asleep. Now I love my mattress. When I moved to Philadelphia I had to beg my parents to just bring down the one in my room so that I wouldn't have to buy a new one and readjust all over again. Of course whenever I go home to visit my parents I have to pay the price my sleeping on the refugee bed and often I end up spending the week on their couch.

When I have people in my bed I end up letting their preferences dictate where I sleep. With Marg I was always on the left. Of course it was because she only uses the right side when she's awake so the only way I could fit in with her to watch Summer Heights High in the hotel was to stretch out on the left and move closed to the foot of the bed so her husband pillow wouldn't jab me in the back. With The Physicist it always depended on whose bed we were in. If it was his then I most often slept on the right. In my bed I was on the left. I never really got that since in my own bed I most often start out in the right before ending up in the center under the netting. For some reason he always positioned himself on the right by the light letting him dictate whether the lights were on or off. In the summer this came in handy for me. During the summer when the sun comes up early I would wake up earlier than The Physicist and could read in bed while he still slept. I created a nice Nancy and Andy situation with the pillows so that I could move around and be comfortable without disturbing him and read for a few hours in sunny silence.  Yonni is the most polite person you could ever want to sit in your bed. He always seems to be aware of personal space and knows that I prefer the right. Even when he's all alone writing or reading something on my computer, he stays mostly to the left and when I sit down next to him he always makes sure that there is enough room.

Wings and weather and Liam Neeson.

Murder, She Wrote on Netflix has become my latest obsession. I used to watch the show with my mom every Sunday when it was on the air and it has alway been a personal favorite of mine. I spent the day watching the second season on my computer instead of clearing the snow off of my car. There wasn't a whole lot of snow, but we still had a delay and I didn't have to go to class. I wanted to sleep in but I couldn't. I haven't been getting good sleep lately, I have a lot of school work to get done before next week's midterms. I hate that I couldn't catch up with sleep, it seems like such a waste of a good Tuesday, especially since Wednesdays are always the beginning of my marathon end of the weeks. Tomorrow I'm hoping I'll actually make it to service. With all of the snow and the key mishaps and my group not having had orientation, I haven't been able to get to any of my service runs down in the city. Hopefully third time's the charm! (Remember don't use exclamation points. They are only reserved for teenaged girl writing. Poor KM)

Tonight I went over to Norristown to meet up with Dre and then we ventured over to Blue Bell to have dinner with Dan. I try to get out there every couple of weeks to see them. I saw CharChar last week so it was time to see the other two. Dre kept making preggo food references at Dan, but it's cool, no preggo eggo yet. I will be excited when Dan does have a child, Little Ball of Laugh needs someone else to play with. I am tons of fun, but he needs someone who is more his height. We went to PJW's for wings and there were a billion teenagers there. It's like a larger version of wing night at the Sunset but without the high school field hockey team trying to eat 200 wings in one sitting so they can get free t-shirts to wear to practice the next day.

I was watching Chelsea earlier and Emmy Rossum was on. Not a big Emmy fan, but she was plugging her new show on Showtime, Shameless. Showtime airs some of my favorite shows so I'm hoping that it won't disappoint. It also stars William H. Macy and Joan Cusack. Joan's the best ever since her ill fated head gear appearance in Sixteen Candles way back in the 80s. I can't wait to get to time to dig into Shameless. I also say Liam Neeson's Unknown trailer for the hundredth time and I think that that did the trick. I have to see this movie. I just need to find someone to see this movie with. My usual movie going friends don't go to see these types of movies. Quelle dommage!

I'm listening to Atomic Tom and The Toxic Airborne Event. They're the last artists played from a couple of days ago so I've just been listening to them over and over to save on having to make a new play list. I have to make a new one sooner or later, I just download a bunch of new music and I need to get it into my regular playing rotation. The sooner the better too, otherwise I'll forget about it.

Freezing in the apartment. It's a constant battle with the window and the radiator. The window is usually cracked to keep the heat flowing around the room, but the radiator is inconsistent and it hisses at me when I get to close. So right now I have very cold hands that make it hard to type and is why there're so many errors in my typing tonight.

Not tired, not good.

So I finished season six of Weeds, got my homework done, made dinner, watched miscellaneous episodes of television that I need to catch up on and am now watching the latest episode of Californication. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love Showtime. I also love that I'm going to Key West on spring break and when I come home Nurse Jackie will be starting a week or two later.

Key West, I can't wait. It's been a while since I've been all warm inside and out and I am willing to trade my mother's drippy and nostalgic stories about my parent's time in the Conch Republic for that feeling again. I'm even thinking about getting a real bathing suit this time, body image be damned. It's time for me to get tan again like when I was twelve and live in the sun for a summer. I've also been working out and so I figure I can ride the endorphins for a while and won't even notice if I look like a fat ass next to Samantha. I just want to be tan again and not look like Snow White's sickly sister in bed. Either that or I need to go back to having sex with really pale guys.

I did something stupid today. I got bored in theology (I know! Hot viking is boring! Who knew?!) and suffered from a little word vomit, or really texting vomit. Sorry about that, you know who you are if you still read this blog. Ignore it, it's over, I seem to right a lot of open apologies to you but whatever, let's talk about Weeds tomorrow instead of me.

This is nuts I should be asleep right now since I have to get up in five hours but I can't seem to get to sleep. I've been taking something for sleep, but I didn't do it tonight because I knew I would be able to get the required hours of sleep that the dosage requires. I do love those pills. My mother would say I'm on the fast track to addiction, I say that's the detriment of the gene pool she married into.

AWAKE, AWAKE, AWAKE!!!

Oh holy sweet bananas I can't get to sleep! And I've tried everything I can think of. I even texted My Hebrew Friend to see if he could come up with anything and he definitely tried his best. His suggestions were all over the place ranging from reading, writing, tea and sex. I don't own any boring books. Everything I read I like and would have just stayed up to finish the book no matter how late it got, defeating the purpose of trying to go to sleep. Tea, I tried. It sort of work, but the sleepies sort of fizzled out and I'm back to being wide awake. Sex. Well sex is out of the question. Whenever I have sex I am always left wide awake and I want to punch my partner in the face five minutes after we are done because he is sound asleep and I am nowhere near it. The only time I ever got a guy to go as long as I wanted was when we were both completely stoned and I nagged him into almost sobriety. I've been living like a repressed nun lately and I'm ready to burst but I told Yonni I would let him know when I wanted to have sex with him and I haven't yet. Yonni this isn't me saying I want to have sex yet, I'll let you know when. So that leaves me with writing, which is what I am doing now. It's not really working, but since My Hebrew Friend needs to be alseep right now even if he isn't, so I can't leave call him. I think I'm just anxious about the snow that we're supposed to get. I don't have any homework due for my class tomorrow and I don't have to go into Borders or other work so I really don't have anything to worry about. Wednesday I think I'm going to beg My Hebrew Friend to come watch The Princess Bride with me. I may even bribe him with butter pecan ice cream since he doesn't like chocolate. Who doesn't like chocolate ice cream? Gosh! And who only watched The Princess Bride only once? Double gosh!!

Have fun storming the castle!
